Paphos and Polis are the two major towns in the Paphos District.
Paphos is particularly well represented in the services sector and there are shops, supermarkets and stores for just about everything you require. Polis is primarly a tourist town, however, two large supermarket chains opened there recently.
Paphos town has a permeneant market in the center of Ktima (Old Town) and its emphasis is primarily on tourist products, gift items, memerobilia. It also has a traditional fish and fruit section. It is very picturesque and has a proud history. There are also several Flea Markets and Boot Sales taking place across the region throughtout the week.
The Mesogi area of Paphos focuses on larger stores providing furniture, electrical goods, sanitary ware as well as DIY stores and the local Industrial Estate which houses the Department of Transport and Driving Test Center, Woodwork factory, clothes factory, aluminium factory and a top wine provider.
