The new road in Tombs of the Kings area.

The long term suffering shop and business owners of Tombs of the Kings area have something to smile about, as Tombs of the Kings Avenue is finally upgraded to a dual carriageway and a long section of the new road nears completion.
Further road works are continuing near Kings Avenue Mall in Kato Paphos area, where a large roundabout is being built at the intersection of Tombs of the Kings Avenue and Apostolos Pavlou Avenue.

Completion of upgrading of Tombs of the Kings Avenue was due in May 2015, unsurprisingly late, the current batch of road works are behind schedule have been and revised to be completed in August of 2015. The contractor has been granted approximately a one year extension to complete the next phase of road works, scheduled for around May 2016.

The 3.2 km long upgrade features roundabouts and a cycle line which runs parallel to the smart looking dual carriageway, complete with its central reservation area, due to planted with shrubs and pretty flowers.

The projected cost is €14 million Euros and will ease the traffic congestion in the area, as well as make the road safer for drivers and other more vulnerable road users.
Tombs of the Kings area: is considered to be tourist zone and located west of Paphos, enroute to Peyia and Coral Bay.

The amenities are varied and plentiful, catering for all tastes; there are many types of restaurants, cafes, bars, pubs and clubs.
Nearby or in the area you will also find chemists, banks, a cinema, children’s arcades, crazy golf, car hire, bakeries, hair and nail salons, hotels, churches, archeological sites, water sports and Kings Avenue Mall and much more.
There is a Lidl supermarket on the main road, there is also a local and regular bus service.
